Strawberry Table-top system
In 2010 a purpose build 20 acre strawberry table top system was constructed. This table top system provides considerable improvement in picking efficiency, harvesting costs and fruit quality. The self-contained system has its own water, electricity and computer controlled feeding system.
A J & C I Snell win ‘Organic Grower of the Year 2011’
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded ‘Organic Grower of the Year 2011’ at the Horticultural weeks ‘Grower of the Year’ awards ceremony for our Organic Blackcurrants!
The award follows great investment and development in the growing methods as well as successful innovative marketing of our full soil association certified blackcurrants.

old Star award at the Great Taste Awards 2011 for ‘Windmill Hill Fruits’
The Windmill Hill Fruits – a range of premium frozen fruit packs aimed specifically at farm shops and quality independents was launched in 2010. We are proud to announce that the British ‘frozen from fresh’ Summer Fruits pack has won a gold star at the Great Taste Awards 2011, judges comments included;
“Good quality fruit….very natural, preservation doesn’t kill the flavour”
A J & C I Snell Win Two Awards at Harewood End Agricultural Society
The summer of 2011 saw Anthony and Christine collect the prestigious 'Best Managed Large Farm', as well as 'Best Field of Soft Fruit' providing a double win at the Harwood End agricultural society awards. There was a huge diversity of farms entered into the 'Best Managed Large Farm' testing the judges, who spent a long day visiting numerous farms across Herefordshire.

ddition to the farm – Hereford Cattle
The farm now has four new additions – pedigree Hereford heifers. The summer saw the arrival of a Hereford bull and we are hopeful for some calves next spring!
Increasing lake capacity
The exceptionally dry summer of 2011 caused great concern on the farm as a result of reduced water availability. However, the reservoirs dried enough for equipment to go in and increase the lake capacity.
Agro-chemical store fire
A

the peak of the summer in 2010 the agrochemical store at Pencoyd Court Farm caught fire, fire-crews efficiently put the fire and since a new shed at Pencoyd has been built providing a new area for agro-chemical storage and the farm workshop.
Farm Foreman wins four consecutive ploughing matches in 2011
Alister Richards our farm foreman has won four consecutive ploughing matches during 2011 and for the last three consecutive years won Herefordshire Reversible Champion. Alister has been a member of the team for numerous years now and enjoys taking time off to attend country ploughing matches.

AJ & CI Snell have visited numerous trade shows including Food and Drink Expo 2010 and IFE 2011 meeting buyers from numerous retail outlets and food manufacturing companies.
Launch of British Blackcurrant online shop – from our fields to your door!
You can now purchase British Blackcurrants online through our online shop where we will then pack and dispatch them in dry ice to ensure they remain frozen during transit for delivery direct to your door!
Mobile smoothie trailer
A J & C I Snell have launched a mobile catering trailer selling all things ‘fruity’. The unique catering trailer uses juicy fruits straight from our award winning farm to provide customers with a healthy and delicious selection of refreshments.

A.J & C.I Snell have collected Horticultural Week's Grower of the Year - Edible Award (2008). The highly coveted accolade represents the continual drive to expand the business, on and off the field. It also recognises Anthony and Christine Snell's contribution to the industry.
Featured in the dedicated Award's magazine, the article describes the business as: "An outstanding example of a commercial horticultural business that is continually moving forward."
"Soft Fruit Grower of the Year Winner: A.J & C.I Snell"
A big pat-on-the-back to all the team here at A.J & C.I Snell, having received the title of 'Soft Fruit Grower of the year 2008' in Horticultural Week's Award ceremony.
The reward comes off the back of a period of development and expansion for the company, most notably in the addition of the 2000-tonne capacity Packhouse. It also highlights the "swathe of research and trials to improve growing efficiency."
Jubilee Strawberries take the prize in National Fruit Show
We're proud to announce that we have won 1st prize in the National Fruit Show's Strawberry section, for our delicious Jubilee Strawberries.
